I am a doctor in archeology, an expert on the Viking Age and author of numerous internationally acclaimed works. My academic interests include Scandinavia and its diaspora in the Viking Age, and History and Archaeology of Rus. I offer consulting services in archaeological fieldwork, post-excavation analysis, peer-reviewing, research evaluation, writing and popularising and assignment training.
My clients and partners include universities of Stockholm, Uppsala, Aarhus, Oxford, Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes, Polish and Ukrainian Academy of Sciences, the Swedish History Museum, Sigtuna Museum, the Swedish Church and National Geographic Magazine.
I work towards increasing the availability of archaeological resources and archaeological material. Among my publications are works that bring new archaeological material into the public domain: “Catalogue of Scandinavian Antiquities of Southern Rus” (2012), “Vikings in the East” (2013), “Viking Swords” (2014) and “Byzantium and Nordic Coinage” (2016). Currently, I’m preparing a publication of Swedish Viking Age hoards.
